Service Description
Workshops are geared towards adults. The minimum age for this class is 12. (Ages 12-16 must have guardian in attendance). Please book a spot for each person attending. Instructors: Chelsea Ernst and Tyler Doyle 8am-12pm There is so much more to learning about birds than simply identification by sight and sound. The first part of our time together will be all about bird language and tracking. What can we learn about everything that is happening in an area just by looking and listening to the birds? Can we tell that a bird of prey is nearby by how the songbirds move? Can we tell how far away the neighbor's cat is, based off of how high the Robin perches? We'll learn some of these patterns and practice identifying them. We'll also get the chance to practice identifying bird tracks and sign as we come across them in the field. We'll also learn about identification of birds in the field and tools one might use to identify them, including field marks and plumage, sound, flight patterns, behavior, and more. We'll take our knowledge to the field and practice our new skills.
