Service Description

*In weeks before camp, location, waivers, and other important info will be sent to the email address you provide upon registration* Who? 13-15 year olds interested in an intro to backpacking, wilderness survival, and team building week. Students in attendance must be willing and able to follow Nighthawk's rules and agreements seen at https://www.nighthawknaturalistschool.com/participantfiles When? June 19-23, 2023. Mon-Weds 9a-3p and Thursday 8a-Friday 4p. Drop off will begin 15 mins prior and pick up will end 15 after. Where? Mon-Weds: We meet each day at Nighthawk's Alfalfa Mkt Rd Camp operated by Bureau of Land Management and spend the day there. Tuesday, we'll meet there then van the group on an outing hike; Thursday-Friday: Nighthawk transports students via van from Alfalfa Mkt Rd to our adventure site in Ochoco National Forest What? This week will bring a small group of 13-15 year olds together in community to grow their survival skills, awareness of the world around them, and sense of place in nature and community. The first 3 days will be 9am-3pm at a location near town where we'll strengthen our team through games and challenges, as well as learn the ins and outs of backpacking, nature awareness, and backcountry safety. Thursday, we'll rendezvous in town and van the students out, with all their gear, to our backpacking location and do an overnight backpacking trip. We'll finish the week with celebrations and reflections as a group and wrap on Friday afternoon. Food? Students bring their own lunch, snacks, and water Monday-Weds. Students bring snacks of their choice for the Thursday-Friday overnight. Students eat/bring their own breakfast Thursday AM. Thursday Lunch and Dinner is provided. Friday Breakfast and Lunch are provided. What to bring? Cancellation Policy

Nighthawk doesn't guarantee refunds. They are not typical and fully depend on our ability to fill the spot. If we are able to fill your spot after your cancellation, a future class credit will be issued. If Nighthawk cancels a whole course, participants will be credited for a future course if rescheduling isn't possible. Partial course cancellations/adjustments/reschedules due to inclement weather, etc. are not typically credited.
