Service Description

Workshops are geared towards adults ages 16+ Student age 10-15 may attend this workshop with a parent/guardian. Come learn the basics of wildlife tracking in the Pacific Northwest. We will learn to read the stories that wildlife leave behind. We will start by learning some basics about animal foot morphology and the types of other signs animals often leave behind. Then, we'll take our knowledge to the field and practice finding, following, and identifying evidence of animals. Tracking is a skill that is more than simply looking at individual tracks. It involves piecing together larger stories and leads to a greater understanding of patterns in the natural world. We will meet at a local public land area on the edge of Bend (exact location and details of what to bring will be emailed to you when you register). Here, we will get to know each other and the land a little better by practicing skills together. Please feel free to email us with any questions!
