Service Description

Workshops are geared towards adults age 16+ During this weekend workshop, we will make baskets out of flat reed from SE Asia. We will all make and take home a basket. It will be 1 full day of weaving together and connecting. In addition, we'll learn a bit about basket types and history of basketry, different plant materials used for baskets and how to procure them. The goal is to weave together and have fun together. The bonus is that you'll all walk away with you own handmade backpack baskets! Your teacher will be Chelsea Ernst, who has 10+ years experience in ethnobotany, weaving, ecological science, and teaching ecology and wilderness skills. She is looking forward to teaching and learning with you all! Exact location and details of what to bring will be emailed to you when you register. It's possible we'll use a public indoor space if weather doesn't play nice. Please feel free to email us with any questions! **The price of this class is higher than our typical workshops due to the cost of the materials and the substantial prep time it takes for teachers. Contact for payment plan options as subsidies are not sustainable for this specific class**
